it takes all kinds

I’d like to share with you my latest illustration work for the ‘It Takes All Kinds’ Campaign.

Initiated by the Danish Institute for Human Rights, “It Takes All Kinds” is an online platform that aims to fight discrimination in European schools, by offering a portal for student & teachers to access the ’best-practice’ lesson materials and provide a community platform for local NGOs across Europe.  LGMi  produced a short, playful cartoon for the campaign. I contributed the illustrations used for the animation and Magda (the animator) brought them to life!

Fight homophobia in schools!

I dedicate this particular post to my friend and wordpress expert, Yamile. This post wouldn’t be possible without her motivation and technical support. Check out her creative web biz.

strawberry day

It was a beautiful strawberry day. We wandered through the fresh food market @ boxi, then chilled @ the little neighborhood park & napped under the clear blue sky. We heard a demonstration from a distance.

Just another typical day in the kiez.

Happy Birthday to the head of the Kan Clan! 60 years of endurance and excellence.

I designed this propaganda poster for my dad, who’s a devout catholic, lives by the book and raised 6 little devils with his bare hands. He deserves some love & recognition for all his efforts.

planting karmic seeds

It’s been a while since my last post.
Been recovering from a cold that everyone’s been passing around. I spent most of my time ill in bed watching random youtube animations and I came across the cutest thing – ‘Notebook Babies’ (2 minute educational films offering bite sized morals to children) by the enthusiatic teacher, Tony Dusko. I absolutely love the characters and thought, I’m going to make one too!!

I took me 3 days to make a 29 second animation. But I’m really happy with the outcome – it’s like magic when you see your own characters come to life. So I’m proudly presenting one of my first animations with you all – Hope it brings a smile to your days!

I dedicate this film to my sister, Angela who inspired the title of the story. We both share an interest in Buddhism and try to apply the teachings to our daily lives.

incredible india

Finally had some time to put together of my pictures from India. Enjoy*

“Sometimes we see the past so clearly, and read the legend of its parts with such acuity, that every stitch of time reveals its purpose, and a kind of message is enfolded in it. Nothing in any life, no matter how well or poorly lived, is wiser than failure or clearer than sorrow. And in the tiny precious wisdom that they give us, even those dread and hated enemies, suffering and failure, have their reason and their right to be.” An extract from the book SHANTARAM♥
